It all began when the company’s CEO, Otavio Correa, identified a gap in the available solutions for corrosion management in Brazil, not only in software, which later would become a strategic direction, but originally in hardware development.
Among the hardware solutions developed by Vidya are the Electrical Resistance (ER) Corrosion Probe and a Data Logger for real-time internal corrosion monitoring, both designed to meet the rigorous requirements of the Oil & Gas, Energy, and Process industries. With a constant focus on innovation, the company has evolved these technologies to withstand harsh environments, including areas classified as potentially explosive.
“It’s been a long journey. Since 2015, we’ve been involved in R&D projects with institutions such as FAPERJ, FINEP, the Tecnova program, and Petrobras/CENPES. With their support, we developed the first versions of our hardware,” reflects Correa.

The standout product of the Alutal powered by Vidya line is the Data Logger IIoT 4.0, designed for internal corrosion monitoring in piping systems. Fully wireless and powered by a high-performance lithium battery (with a lifespan of over five years), the device enables continuous integrity tracking of pipelines through accurate and reliable measurements over time.
Its internal logger can store up to 125,000 readings, equivalent to over 860 days of operation with 10-minute measurement intervals. This reading frequency is also easily configurable, with standard options of 1h, 3h, 6h, 12h, or 24h to meet the specific needs of each operation.
Certified by Inmetro as Ex ia IIC T4 Ga, the product is designed to withstand temperatures up to 130°C and safely operate in atmospheres with continuous presence of flammable gases. It can be installed in Zone 0 classified areas, ideal for harsh industrial environments such as oil and gas facilities, refineries, pipelines, terminals, or petrochemical plants.
